FREMONT, Calif., April 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — The Men’s Wearhouse, Inc. (NYSE: MW) today announced that its Moores operations have been named as one of this year’s Best Workplaces in Canada. This list of Best Workplaces in Canada was published in a special national report on Thursday, April 17th, 2014 in The Globe and Mail.

Men’s Wearhouse and Moores have taken great measures to implement unique training and recognition programs that promote and encourage employees’ development and success, including:

  • Integrating employee training and development into the company’s corporate culture;
  • Fostering a strong appreciation for its on-site tailors;
  • Honoring distribution center workers through an Employee of the Month program.

“Our vision statement at Men’s Wearhouse and Moores is to strive every day to provide world-class service to our customers and each other,” said Doug Ewert, The Men’s Wearhouse, Inc. President and CEO. “This award belongs to our employees who exemplify the exceptional customer service that has become synonymous with the Moores brand. Their energy, hard work, and commitment across all levels of the organization are what make our company successful.”

This list of “Best Workplaces in Canada” is compiled by Great Place to Work® Institute Canada.  The competition process is based on two criteria: two-thirds of the total score comes from a 58-statement survey completed by a random selection of employees, along with their open-ended comments about their organization; the remaining one-third of the score comes from an in-depth review of the organization’s culture, including an evaluation of HR policies and procedures. This offers a rigorous representation of the organization from an employee perspective, and an overall portrait of the workplace culture. Together, they provide crucial data relative to the five trust-building dimensions of a great place to work®: credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie.

This year’s list received over 300 nominations and over 60,000 employees participated in the 2014 “Best Workplaces in Canada” survey.
